The Speaker That Packs A Punch
My first impressions looking at the packaging I said to myself “I am in for a treat”. The Nova comes in a small square black box which you open by pulling on the tag to one side of the box.
Inside the box contains the Nova mini portable speaker, a carrying case, charging cable and set of instructions.
The Nova is slick and small, weighs almost nothing and has a nice texture to its feel. The Nova comes in three (3) colors, White, Black or Red. The Nova needs charging before use. takes a couple of hours and can hold a charge up to 8 hours of playtime on its Li-ion battery.
Some features noticeably are the volume controls up and down, each are allocated on the corner feet of the Nova. The power button is also on one of the feet and once turned on (hold for three seconds) will show a glowing blue LED light beside. There are too ports, the mini USB used for charging the device to a Universal USB port on your PC/Mac and the headphone jack for connecting the same charging cable to your computer via USB or any other device for sound. The same headphone jack 1/8″ (3.5mm) is also for connecting the Nova to other Novas to get more speaker volume, basically adding more speakers together. Also, wrapped tightly underneath is the headphone cable 1/8″ (3.5mm) to connect the Nova to your iPhone, iPod or any other cool Mp3 or iPad and tablet you want to get sound out of whilst traveling or on the go.
The Nova comes with this twisting speaker on the top which pops up, also known as the expanding bass chamber. There is no need to pull on the released speaker further than it pops itself. The sound quality is excellent, I found that even with the volume to max the sound did not come across distorted or like some other mini portable speakers as if it was inside a tin can. Clear crystal sound with the added value of high volume, good enough for any party to fill the room.
My overall review gives this mini portable speaker a killer 9/10, no problem with the Nova, cool design, easy to carry in your pocket, great for in the park or for quick access to listen to music from your iPhone at home. Sounds great too.
